Selank
A Russian-developed heptapeptide anxiolytic, registered in Russia. Trials exist but are small, largely Russian-language, and not independently replicated.
A Russian-developed dipeptide anxiolytic acting on cholecystokinin signalling. Published human data is confined to a small number of Russian-language studies.
Cholecystokinin is best known as a gut hormone, but in the brain it also drives anxiety and, at high enough doses, panic. Compounds that block the CCK-B receptor have long been investigated as anxiolytics that would not carry benzodiazepine baggage. GB-115 is a very short peptide designed around that idea, from the same Russian institute that produced Selank and several other dipeptide drugs.
A retro-analogue dipeptide of the cholecystokinin-4 C-terminal fragment, amyloid-N-phenylhexanoyl-glycyl-L-tryptophan amide, developed at the Zakusov Institute of Pharmacology. Acts as a CCK-B receptor ligand with reported anxiolytic and antidepressant-like activity in rodent conflict and forced-swim models, and reported attenuation of morphine and ethanol withdrawal signs. Human data is limited to early-phase Russian studies. Mechanistic characterisation outside the originating institution is sparse, and no independent replication of the clinical findings exists in the English-language literature.
