Overview
SNAP-8 takes the six-amino-acid Argireline sequence and adds two more residues, on the reasoning that a longer mimic of SNAP-25 competes more effectively for its place in the vesicle-release machinery. The supplier reports greater wrinkle reduction than Argireline in their own testing. It faces the same fundamental question as Argireline: whether a water-soluble peptide applied to the skin reaches facial muscle in a meaningful amount.
Acetyl octapeptide-3, an eight-residue N-terminal SNAP-25 mimetic extending the acetyl hexapeptide-8 sequence. Competes with SNAP-25 for incorporation into the SNARE complex, reducing vesicle docking efficiency and neurotransmitter release in vitro. Supplier data reports greater in-vitro potency and larger instrumental wrinkle-depth reduction than acetyl hexapeptide-8.
